If you answered yes to all of these questions, then we want to hear from you! (Note that the Source business model is not intended to include individuals who have full-time accounting practices or to supplement a full-time base of clients. Our recruits typically are interested in scaling down the amount of time they are working to improve work/life balance. Candidates are independent contractors and sometimes also do part-time accounting work for others).

What type of work will I do?

Our independent contractors have many years of experience but are willing and motivated to do all levels of accounting work which is one the appeals for our clients.  The win for our clients is that they get top notch accounting services with an individual that has analytical skills and insight that they cannot get with their entry level staff.   The type of work you may do includes
  • Generating, reviewing and analyzing month end financial statements and accounting transactions
  • Balancing bank statements and reconciling accounts
  • Making journal entries
  • Doing specials projects from cleaning up an accounting mess, to migrating a computer system, to writing a procedure manual.
We'll do as much or as little as our clients need.

What type of clients do you serve?

Our specialty is multi-family property management companies.  By nature, the apartment business lends itself to telecommuting because many property managers are centralized but have apartments all over  the country.  There are many industry softwares that are hosted on the cloud too.  This allows our accountants easy access from home and is condusive to our business model.  So basically we are doing the accounting for apartment communities all across the country.  We do also work with commercial and industrial properties as well as manufactured housing.

What happens once I submit my resume to Source Property Accounting?

Once you’ve completed the online form and submitted your resume, we will notify you that we have received your resume. If the initial screening is a fit, we will contact you if we need additional information and/or when we identify a potential position for you.

If I’m hired, are benefits offered?

No.  Our business model is premised on overhead savings to our clients.  Our independent contractors are not employees of our clients or Source Property Accounting and may have a few other very part-time clients.

Who pays Source Property Accounting?

The Source business model is based on independent contractors that work remotely from home and are either contracted by Source or are paired with clients for a finder’s fee after an evaluation and restructuring of accounting processes/tasks. If you work for Source, you will be a 1099 (Independent Contractor) for Source Property Accounting. If the Client prefers to contract you directly, they pay Source a finders fee.  Either way, you are a 1099 Independent Contractor and you do not pay anything for your placement.
